There was a modding community attempting to fix other issues with the PC version, however, since the release of the Ultimate HD Edition, modders has moved onto creating mods for that version instead. In response to the poor state the initial PC version was released in, Capcom hired QLOC to develop another PC port, which was released through Steam in 2014 as the Ultimate HD Edition. Despite being released on PC, however, it does not accommodate keyboard and mouse controls as it does not support mouse controls whatsoever, and in-game button prompts only references generic button numbers rather than actual keys from the keyboard. A patch was eventually released to address these issues and the poor visual downgrades. If you come across a chicken they will drop eggs if you shoot them or just follow them around. If you ever see a hawk shoot them for ammo, and money. The PC version initially shipped with none of the game's original lighting, lower quality textures, and introduced bugs and crashes that were not present in the previous console versions. Throughout the game of Resident evil 4 you will come across many different animals including hawks, chickens, snakes, fish, cows and many others, you may not know that they drop some great items. I figured I'd give it another try now that I heard the controls were fixed and some other things were updated. I've always been a PC gamer though and when it was ported it was a mess. So I've really been wanting to play Resident Evil 4 for years.
Another port was released for PC on May 15, 2007, however, it was based off the inferior PlayStation 2 port rather than the superior GameCube version, with even more problems than the PlayStation 2 version. RE4: Really trying to enjoy the game, but the controls are kind of ruining it for me. The game was released for the Nintendo GameCube on January 11, 2005, and despite originally being exclusive to that system, it was ported to PlayStation 2 on October 25 the same year.
It is the fourth mainline installment in the Resident Evil series. I may have to give his HD Mod a shot that /u/huenchu posted because the last time I was looking at the mod scene they were still having a lot of issues with the HUD and it looks like they fixed them.
Resident Evil 4 is a third-person action horror shooter developed by Capcom, ported by Sourcenext, and published by Ubisoft overseas and Capcom in Japan. While the publisher is finally releasing an easy to play version of a classic with Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition for 19.99, its already possible to get there for free with the regular PC port, through the magic of mods.
